Meta0 Leveraging Polygon Ecosystem for Web3 Expansion

August 29, 2022

The gaming industry exploded the past few years as the demand for PC parts and consoles skyrocketed when people were forced to stay home due to the pandemic. The global gaming market is expected to grow by $125.65 billion from 2020 to 2025, according to Technavio.

One factor driving the gaming market is the integration of blockchain technology in gaming apps. Blockchain technology in gaming enables businesses and players who use NFTs and cryptocurrencies to purchase in-game assets  – which could even be exchanged for real money.

The Polygon network, which worked with the likes of Ubisoft, Atari, Animoca, Decentraland, Somnium Space, Sandbox, and Aavegotchi, grew by more than 400% this year. The network, a cost-effective EVM-based blockchain, is the de facto platform for Web3 gaming.

Through a partnership with Polygon, Meta0 will provide game developers with the advantages of the Polygon platform. These advantages include low fees, a big user community and a vast decentralized apps ecosystem with which to integrate.

"This is another significant step in expanding Meta0's offering of blockchain interoperability and access to more gamers for game devs everywhere who want to make the best Web3 gaming experiences," said Ricardo Rodrigues, head of global partnerships at Meta0.

Meta0 is a new blockchain startup that connects metaverses and blockchain ecosystems through a Layer 0 protocol. Meta0 provides the tools game developers need to reach players on every blockchain while also spending less time, money and personnel on the development process itself.

As a one-stop shop for game developers, they remove the technical complexities of blockchain integration by providing intuitive API and SDK-based solutions that offer cross-chain support.

“Polygon's developer toolset and established blockchain gaming ecosystem pair well with Meta0's approach, and we're thrilled to be joining together to advance Web3 development, adoption and interoperability," said Urvit Goel, head of global games business development at Polygon Studios.
