Trends for Your Health and the Holidays

December 20, 2021

It’s hard to believe, but 2021 is coming to a close very soon. The end of the year often affords us some time to look back and reflect, along with letting us make resolutions for the future. That and, of course, shopping for the ones we love. Let’s take a look at some health and shopping trends for us to consider below.

Healthcare on the Blockchain?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it seems everyone is talking about crypto these days. That said, most of the conversations seem to revolve around cryptocurrency and what will the next Dogecoin be. There is much more to blockchain than a replacement for the dollar. One such potential application is putting digital health on the blockchain. We could even start to see patients controlling more of their health data as non-fungible tokens, commonly known as NFTs.

A New Job – In Nursing?

Whether you lost your job during the pandemic because of industry layoffs or you’re just ready to try something new, you should know that there is a massive shortage in the nursing industry. One such region to consider is the Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio metro area, especially because of the fantastic cost of living andvantages there.

Better Glasses for Form, Function, and Health

There have been some significant advancements in the eyewear industry. These days, smart glasses are all the rage. Since we spend so much time in front of the computer and on Zoom meetings, new glasses can help us look our best. This is true, especially considering things like anti-fog coatings and replacement lenses, which allow us to keep the frames we already have and love.

A Toast to Your Health...Without Alcohol?

While this time of year typically gets us thinking about having a few cocktails, perhaps it’s time to embrace some of today’s trends – such as a mocktail. What is a mocktail? The same great flavor of your mixed drink of choice, less the alcohol. Needless to say, the non-alcoholic beverage market has been booming. The five main areas where beverages are booming include, functional waters, organic beverages, a variety of coffee formats, teas, and innovative alcohol flavors. Speaking of water: Did you know that more than 21 million Americans are currently drinking water that is in violation of the U.S. health standards? It’s time to upgrade with a water filter system.

The Holiday Tech Shortage

Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues and chip shortages, the holiday tech shortage is very real and there’s a good chance your favorite gifts are sold out. There is still hope for gift giving, thought. You’ll may be able to fix older devices pretty quickly and inexpensively at a qualified local provider, just in time for the holidays. It’s cost effective too, with an average savings of $330 per household. You can be the star of the show and have some leftover spending money.

Alternative Approaches to Credit

What would the holidays be if we lacked the credit we need to take care of those around us? Unfortunately, many people either have thin credit or fall into the category of credit invisible. One in five adults lack the credit history needed to establish a credit score. That’s why new programs are expanding access to credit with alternative data.

Bringing it All Together

No doubt about it, It’s been a tough year – or two! Despite the challenges, there is always hope for the future. Think of your health and the wellbeing of those around you, and appreciate all the good in your life. Here’s to your health and an easier 2022 ahead!
