Blockchain-based Marketplace IZNES Turns Page into New Chapter
European blockchain-based fund marketplace IZNES, with over €7 billion in assets under a registry that continues to grow daily, improves operational efficiency, reduces costs and offers institutional investors and asset managers an optimal level of security and IT resilience.
IZNES is committed to bringing asset management companies and institutional investors a unified solution to optimize their operations while reducing costs. As part of that objective, IZNES CEO Christophe Lepitre says that a more robust, private and permissioned blockchain is the way to support the growing activity on the marketplace.
IZNES’s new blockchain is built on Hyperledger Fabric to power its distributed ledger solutions and continue to fuel its growth and innovation.
Hyperledger Fabric is a foundation for developing applications or solutions with a modular architecture. Its modular and versatile design satisfies a broad range of industry use cases, and it guarantees a high level of security, confidentiality and resilience needed for regulated investment company such as IZNES.
Fabric networks are permissioned. This means that all participating members’ identities are known and authenticated. The benefit is useful in industries including finance, banking and insurance, where data cannot be exposed to unknown entities.
“Migrating to Hyperledger Fabric, which is open-source software, gives IZNES greater flexibility to create our own smart contracts for current and future financial products of the platform – all the while allowing IZNES to retain full control and ownership over the blockchain and software architecture,” said Jean-Robert Hervy, managing director and chief product officer at IZNES.
Amazon Web Services and TechMahindra helped helped with the transition. ZNES’s DLT is hosted and maintained by Amazon Managed Blockchain, and the migration of legacy middleware and historical data is successful because of the IZNES tech team receiving assistance from TechMahindra.
The change opens a new chapter for IZNES and shows the ambition the blockchain-based marketplace displays to pursue its growth and develop new services.
