Bitkraft Launches $75M Token Fund

October 18, 2021

Blockchain gaming is one of the hottest trends in cryptocurrency today. Players are not only able to immerse into games using token economies but also cash out on their skills and wins. Most of the companies leading this new gaming trend using nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and authenticate the digital items using a secure digital ledger of the blockchain.

In fact, in just the first half of 2021, blockchain gaming companies raised $476M in funding to advance forward.

The investment comes from Bitkraft Ventures, which is already a well-established player in-game and esports startups. The company just launched a $75 million token fund it says will be used to invest in blockchain gaming and digital entertainment.

This latest funding is unique in that the company said it will be used to invest in any and all companies - from young start-ups to more advanced companies. Both tokens and NFTs will be used to provide capital for these burgeoning companies pushing gaming to the next generation.

The company is so invested in this future of gaming that it’s also coined the term “synthetic reality” where it says physical and digital worlds come together and is unlocking all types of new possibilities for business and play.

According to a report from VentureBeat, the company is a Registered Investment Advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission to maintain regulatory adherence.

The Berlin-based company has also been making moves to lead the charge in this new market and already closed six other investments. Company officials said they plan to invest in 25 more companies by the end of 2022 using this latest funding launch.

“Crypto and blockchain technology are set to influence and disrupt the games and digital entertainment space in a profound way. We have launched our U.S.-based Bitkraft Token Fund I to exclusively invest in the intersection of games and blockchain at the earlier stages with the capability to invest in Tokens as an asset class,” said Jens Hilgers, Bitkraft Ventures founding general partner, in a statement.
